Frequently Asked Questions (Page 1 of 3)

  How long is an appointment?
You should allow 30 – 40 minutes for an osteopathic consultation or treatment.

How many times will I have to go?

That depends on your needs. Some people have regular treatment; others come only once. On average, 3 to 6 treatments will make a significant difference.

Will it hurt?
Generally no. However if you are in a lot of pain, just moving on the table can be uncomfortable. We will always aim to work within your tolerance. Gentle approaches can be used when the tissues are tender (or if you are feeling ‘fragile’).

Do I have to undress?
To conduct the evaluation, you will be asked to undress down to underclothes. If this is a problem for you, please mention this to the osteopath, who will try to accommodate your preferences without limiting your treatment.
